Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good investments.
-Bethenny Frankel

Truly said. “You are what you eat”. A healthy diet is an essential part of your well being. A well-balanced diet provides the right vitamins, minerals and nutrients to keep the body and mind strong and healthy. Eating well can also aid in the prevention of a variety of diseases and health problems, as well as helping to maintain a healthy body weight, providing energy and promoting a general feeling of well-being.
However, to reduce weight there are a lot of people doing crash diet. Lets see the negatives about it –
1. Metabolically unsound.
2. Water weight loss
3. Fat deficiency.
Crash diet is certainly not the right thing to do for a healthy lifestyle. Starving is not a solution, eating well is.
HONEY DIET can be an excellent option to keep a healthy lifestyle.
I recently was at #DaburHoneyDiet bloggers meet in Bangalore, and got a chance to meet Style Chef Pooja Makheeja to know more about it.

Perhaps no one has explored honey’s benefits in as much depth as Indians have. Honey was considered to be nature’s gift to mankind and was prescribed as an essential ingredient of every kitchen. It was seen as an important part of the diet for anyone over 12 months of age. Honey was considered a predigested food, and was said to be easily digested by human beings. One of the uses of honey in both Ayurveda and Siddha is as a vehicle for medicines.

Traditional remedies and uses of honey-
-> 1-3 teaspoons with a glass of room temperature water, twice a day nourishes tissues and helps alleviate weakness in the nervous system.
-> 1-3 teaspoons with a glass of lukewarm water provides instant energy and helps in weight management.

Lets see how we can include honey in our diet –

Fill a tall glass with warm water (as hot as you can tolerate), add the juice of half a lemon and one teaspoon of honey to it. Now stir the mixture well and drink it.

Here’s how this drink can help you-
1. Helps keep constipation at bay
2. Hastens the process of weight loss
3. Aids in better digestion
4. Can improve the functioning of the colon
5. Helps cleanse the lymphatic system
6. Can give your energy levels a boost and improve your mood
7. Aids in cleansing your urinary tract and acts as a diuretic
8. Helps beat bad breath and improves oral health
9. Can help give you a natural glow and clear skin
10. Kickstarts your day if taken early morning

There was a lot more to learn in the bloggers meet about Honey Diet. It was a nice interactive session and we bloggers totally enjoyed it.

I even sketched a quick doodle for the meet –
