Read the above description from wikipedia. It tells us about the city Bangalore, about its population, elevation etc. But it doesnt tells how amazing the city is. How much paced out this city is. How much excitement is filled in living in this city.
I will tell you in this blog about Bangalore, Namma Bengaluru.
I never needed a global consulting firm to validate the fact that Bangalore in undoubtedly the best city to live in India today. Nevertheless, it was pleasing to note that my city Bangalore beat Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Calcutta in terms of quality of living and personal safety standards.
Lets see how Bangalore stands in terms of Design Drive & Connect !!
In terms of design, Bangalore is very well placed. The cities infrastructure is growing exponentially. Growing population is leading to growth in all spheres, and development is seen in every hook and corner of the city. The increasing number of IT organizations offices, and equally increasing number of startups, Bangalore is getting in the right design to sustain anything and everything. The Electronic City toll expressway is one example. Covering 10 km in 10 minutes may just be a dream in regular scenario but its possible now with EC expressway in picture.
Bangalore is charming. It is still a lot greener than other cities and bears a very cosmopolitan outlook. There are still nagging problems in the real estate sector but people are by and large friendly, well spoken and there are enough of malls and pubs to idle your time away in, until 11 pm or thereabouts! The sound of reverberating church bells from St Francis Xavier Cathedral fill the foggy skies, the smell of rich plum cakes tantalizes the senses and Santa Clause singing ‘jingle bells’ in a thick accent fills the city space. A visitor can satiate their senses with the sights and sounds of Bangalore and to the smell of rich Udupi filter coffee, that filters out all that needs to, making Bangalore India’s most livable city.
Bangalore wears the silicon-valley crown and contributes to around 35% of India’s IT exports. Bangalore also remains a hub for biotechnology.
So what drives the people of Bangalore? What keeps it running day and night ? What makes it a fast paced city to work in ?
Well, the answer is within the question. Its the speed of the city. It doesn’t stop, it doesn’t sleep. It works 24×7. It runs 24×7. You can easily spot a coffee shop open at midnight, or even grab snacks to munch. You will see corporate offices brumming with people all the time. And so are the discs and performance venues.
For starters, Bangalore’s weather is beautiful and romantic for most part of the year. The weather rules your mind. What drives this city more is the enthusiasm in life, the excitement, and the happy go lucky people all around. There is always a happiness in the air. There is always a joy around you. You might find people too busy in their laptops solving client issues, but if you smile at them, you will get a smile back and a happy face. Such is this city 🙂
The city has been home to the neighboring ethnic tamil, telegu , malyalam population from the beginning of time and there were sparingly few from the north of India. The business community of Bangalore was a diverse mix of the few from north ( Sindhis and Punjabis ) and more from south. The IT boom in Bangalore led to increasing population way beyond anybody’s imagination.
So, Currently, in Bangalore, the most spoken language is definitely English, then Hindi and then Kannada. All kinds and walks of people live in this city, making the city a true cosmopolitan.
The connect between the various groups of people is fairly impressive, and the people live in complete harmony here.
